AFP – Paris (AFP) – The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, on Tuesday took the reins of the presidency of the European Union (EU) in an atmosphere of crisis, compounded by the rejection of the Polish president to ratify the Treaty of Lisbon and heated criticism from Brussels.
