How to get to the archeological zone of Chichen Itza. If on your vacation, you’re going to stay anywhere on the Riviera Maya, Mexico and want to visit the Mayan ruins of the archaeological site of Chichen Itza you can get a bus leaving from Tulum or Playa del Carmen towards Piste. The village of Piste, closest to the Mayan pyramids of Chichen Itza archaeological zone, lies 157 miles 97 of Cancun and 120 miles 74 from Merida, Yucatan in Mexico. There are also direct transportation from Cancun Mexico international airport or the bus terminal in the center of the Cancun. Once you arrive at the bus stop in the village of Piste, you will have to take a taxi, which is a little removed from the Mayan ruins of the archaeological area of Chichen Itza, the Mayaland Hotel. The Mayaland Hotel offers VIP transportation from the hotel to the White City City of Merida and Cancun. If you want to drive to the village of Piste, takes the Highway free 180 or the road of quota toll motorway.
