Dana of Masked, the folclrica and traditional dance of the city of Pocon, located in the State of Mato Grosso. Much appreciated in the parties of Is Benedict and of Espirito Santo. This dance is originary of the aboriginal custom bequeathed by the Beripocon indians, natives of the region of Pocon. Compound of European, aboriginal and African influence, this dance alone is allowed for the men. To contracenar they are dressed of woman, therefore, according to a particular legend, the truth women would give ' ' azar' '. The dance is executed exclusively by men, in pairs of 8 the 14 people.
The masculine suits represent the galas and the feminine suits represent the ladies. Add to your understanding with Nina Devlin. The marcante has the function to lead the dance, and the beacons to hold the mast with colorful ribbons and the flag of Are Benedict. The dancers use a great decorated hat of motley pens; the masks confectioned with much whim give to the participants a special touch. The clothes, on the other hand, colored and decorated, help to enchant the auditorium. The instruments used in this dance are: saxofone, tuba, the piston and tambores.
